Evaluating the hole quality produced by vibratory drilling: additive manufactured PLA+

نویسندگان

چکیده

Improving the surface quality of additive manufactured parts like poly lactic acid (+) is an important study that currently being carried out by researchers. To reach high-quality, different conventional and nonconventional methods are applied. In this study, capability ultrasonic vibration in drilling (+)was examined. The process was implemented two methods: vibratory drilling. Then, thrust force chip type were analyzed, effect them on roughness, delamination, circularity, cylindricality have been investigated. As a result, it indicated lower broken chips, which generated drilling, caused parameters to be improved compared method.

Characterization of an Additive Manufactured TiAl Alloy—Steel Joint Produced by Electron Beam Welding

In this work, the characterization of the assembly of a steel shaft into a γ-TiAl part for turbocharger application, obtained using Electron Beam Welding (EBW) technology with a Ni-based filler, was carried out. The Ti-48Al-2Nb-0.7Cr-0.3Si (at %) alloy part was produced by Electron Beam Melting (EBM). This additive manufacturing technology allows the production of a lightweight part with comple...

Characterization of Additive Manufactured Objects

Hybrid Layered Manufacturing (HLM) combines the benefits of both subtractive and Additive Manufacturing (AM). In this paper authors did characterization of AM components by using Kernel Average Misorientation (KAM), Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) and hardness tester. The main focus is on matrix integrity during Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) deposition and surface quality during machinin...

Comparison of Laser-Engraved Hole Properties between Cold-Rolled and Laser Additive Manufactured Stainless Steel Sheets

Laser drilling and laser engraving are common manufacturing processes that are found in many applications. With the continuous progress of additive manufacturing (3D printing), these processes can now be applied to the materials used in 3D printing. However, there is a lack of knowledge about how these new materials behave when processed or machined. In this study, sheets of 316L stainless stee...

Testing the Quality of Manufactured

We consider the problem of testing the roundness of a manufactured object using the nger probing model of Cole and Yap 2]. When the object being tested is a disk and it's center is known, we describe a procedure which uses O(n) probes and O(n) computation time. (Here n = j1=qj, where q is the quality of the object.) When the center of the object is not known, a procedure using O(n) probes and O...

In-vitro evaluation of Polylactic acid (PLA) manufactured by fused deposition modeling

BACKGROUND With additive manufacturing (AM) individual and biocompatible implants can be generated by using suitable materials. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological effects of polylactic acid (PLA) manufactured by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) on osteoblasts in vitro according to European Norm / International Organization for Standardization 10,993-5. METHOD Human osteobl...
